Good karma finally came around to make up for the hell week I had last week-- a snow day!
I was productive most of the morning working on a new Etsy shop full of fun stuff and then the afternoon I spend with Jordan drinking coffee, talking about New York, and taking blog pictures--of course!

You may remember me referencing her "Classy from North to South" blog before, but now she has started a BRAND NEW one called "South Of Style" and I'm sure she would appreciate a visit.
If you love J. Crew, pearls, or need to know how to look stylish with your duck boots in the snow--she's your girl!

And I know I don't say it (enough), but thanks for following my blog :)

Ghosts, and Ghouls, and Glamour.... oh my!

This past Friday, I was privileged to be part of the "Vein" fashion show at my favorite boutique in Boone-- Lucky Penny.
The theme was gothic glam--complete with bones, black roses, hay bales, and crows.
Of the 4 amazing looks I had to model--this one was my favorite.

Creepy but cute.

I got a crow on my head, but don't call me a crow head.

One of the many bone decorations hanging from the ceiling-- accompanied by vertebrae, femurs and antlers.

Then on Saturday, I went to our 2nd annual Madison Monster's Ball and it was a blast!
Out of all the pictures, here's a few of my favorites....
 Crocodile Dundee and a gypsy.
Cassie's costume (the gypsy) is totally homemade/all found items.... didn't she do a great job?

 Teen Wolf and a ref.
Haha.
The whole crew!
Robin, ref, Stone Cold Steve Austin, pirate (me), Teen Wolf, Kim Possible, gypsy and Crocodile Dundee.

Hopefully, I'll have some more "Vein" photos to share with you later... the professional shots!

Atlanta Market

This past weekend I had the awesome opportunity to go and work at the apparel mart in Amy J. Hill's show room.
Even though I have lots of retail experience, this was a totally new selling situation for me.
We got to meet buyers from Utah to Florida to Hilton Head... you name it.
I loved being around so many clothes all day (what a surprise) and putting together looks for the wall and getting to figure out the type of girl each buyer was trying to style.
Not to mention, I met lots of wonderful and talented people who work in the industry.

Working hard or hardly working? In the Kensie area.

(I also loved taking pictures of the showroom... as you can tell)
Kensie.

Sanctuary.
(Obsessed with this picture and this collection).

McGinn.
The newest line for the showroom.

More McGinn.
I got to talking to this mother-daughter buying team from Nashville, TN about McGinn and when I mentioned how cute the black and white shorts and cropped fringe jacket would be with cowgirl boots, it was an instant bond.

Sweet Pea.

Erin, the showroom manager, and Paige--a fellow intern :)

Line.

One of the girls I met came into our showroom wearing these.... it was all I could do to not get down on the floor and hug her feet til she decided to let me have these shoes.
They're so perfect..... maybe I should have.
Harassment charges + these boots = totally worth it.

 Work hard, play hard.
Karaoke night!
Kelly--another fellow intern.

The showroom crew, minus Erin.

Overall, it was a great experience and I am so happy to be invited back for January's mart!

Fall Fun at the Farmer's Market

Not my traditional outfit post, but who makes the rules around here anyway?
Oh yeah, I do.

Me and mom had some fun picking out pumpkins for the porch (say that 5x fast!) this past weekend!
Check out her sweet Lane boots!

So many beautiful colors this time of year.....

And as you can see, the intervention hasn't occurred yet.... hence the colored skinny jeans :)

Chico's Outlet necklace/ H&M top/ Sanctuary skinny jeans from MC Adams- Boone, NC/ Blowfish boots

Hope everyone has had a great start to their fall season and their week!

I Feel An Intervention Coming On

Howard's Knob- Boone, NC
Beautiful view, right?

Shirt and earrings from Buffalo Exchange- Charlotte, NC/ Wrangler skinny jeans/ Rocketdog flats/ Lucky Brand bracelet

Right now, I am in L-O-V-E with colored skinny jeans.

I have green, red, orange, and burnt orange (which I'm sure you will see on my blog in the near future) .... and if I could find peach and royal blue, I would have to have them too!

I knew I had it bad when I asked Austin a couple weeks ago "What should I wear to Cassie's birthday party?"
His response: "Uhhhhh........................... I don't know, but I think you should give the colored skinny jeans a rest this weekend."
Rude.
Ladies, maybe you should think twice before you wish your boyfriend was more observant.

Kidding.... kind of.
