Friday Fun

Yesterday (Friday) I got the chance to go visit Barnhardt Manufacturing facility where they treat cotton to make it useable in products such as cotton balls, cotton coils for beauty supply places, tampons, and the cotton in the top of the pill bottles (to name a few).  Too bad we didn't get to visit while they were treating the organic cotton.... our guide claimed it smells like straight coconut oil during that process!

Then we got to go to Parkdale Mills and see treated cotton spun into yarn to be used in Hanes and Fruit of the Loom products!

When I got home from Charlotte, I had an e-mail from Angel Court Jewels saying that I had won their necklace give-away! So excited to receive ^^THIS^^ gorgeous necklace in a few days!

Then, I got ready to go to the Lucky Penny Le Grand Voyage Fashion Show!

There, I met up with my best-est Apparel friend Jordan (from Classy From North to South), and Megan, and Paige (from Shoes, Sunglasses, and Giraffes).
PS:  They were handing out these stunna shades at the door.  I promise this isn't the normal inside-at-8pm look for us.

The venue was Shear Shakti--who also did the hair and make-up.

Love the bold stripes!

Is it obvious that I might have favored this model with my picture-taking?  She pulled off the "pin-up" look SO WELL. Love the red lip. Get it girl!

One of my favorite pieces in the show!

What a GRAND time :)

Checking out the featured garments after the show! Too bad she gave up shopping for lent.  Is Jordan not just the cutest girl you ever saw?

Oh, and you had to be wondering what I wore to the fashion show...

For the love of Noah.... "Calendar For A Cure"

Dress from Dillard's/ Charming Charlie's ring/ Guess watch/ Earrings from Chico's Outlet/ Umbrella from Target/ Shoes from shoedazzle.com

Vicki asked me to be "Miss December" :)

Here's a little tidbit about ordering from shoedazzle.com .....when the reviews tell you to size up... don't be vain, SIZE UP!

This photo shoot was a very special photo shoot.  I had the awesome opportunity to help a friend, Vicki, with her "Calendar For A Cure."  (You can call me "Miss December!")  This calendar is one of the MANY things Vicki is doing to raise money to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.... along with photography sessions, bike runs, benefit BBQs, etc.  You see, Vicki has this PRECIOUS nephew--Noah, who has cystic fibrosis.   Something I have learned since following Noah's cause is that cystic fibrosis is a genetic spectrum disease that causes major problems with the respiratory system.  Most kids on the more serious end of the spectrum are lucky to live to age 18.  That is why finding a cure is so urgent and important.  Vicki, having no prior photography training, pretty much up and created a photography business with the proceeds going to Noah's Great Strides Team.  She is an incredibly creative photographer and is eager to get shots that are pleasing to her client, whether it be a wedding session, newborn session, engagement session--you name it.  There is no doubt that the success of her business has been an answered prayer.  You can follow her progress on her blog "Finding Myself in the Middle", or learn more about "Calendar For A Cure" by clicking the links.  If you would like to donate or learn more about the cause, you can contact her at Victoria Grace Photography.

This is Noah :) A three-year-old who loves Buzz Lightyear and loves to laugh.

Closet Relief

BKE shirt/ Lucky Brand cover-up/ Jeans from Lucky Penny/ Blowfish boots/ Cameo necklace from Elementality/ Ring from Claire's/ Urban Outfitters earrings

If you have been following my blog for a while, you would know that I am a little obsessed with my Blowfish boots (specifically, the ones seen in my pervious post).  They match everything; they make my feet look small--I love them... maybe a little too much.  I'm pretty sure people in my classes might wonder if I own any other shoes.  So you will be happy to know that I got these NEW taupe Blowfish boots to divert my attention for the time being.  The fact that Kendi Everyday readers get 15% off really closed the deal for me.  Just so you know, they fit just as perfectly as my other pair.  If you don't have any Blowfish boots, I highly encourage you to give them a try!

PS: I hope everyone had a delightful Valentine's Day! If you didn't have a hot date, I hope you still found an excuse to get all dolled up--that's the best part!

Pick-Me-Up Pants

Shirt from Target/ J. Crew pants/ Blowfish boots/ Urban Outfitters scarf

AGAIN with the orange and navy--I'm STILL not over it.  Also, I think it's safe to say that these are my favorite pants that I own, even though I have worn them less than five times.  Some people wear their favorite clothes all the time, but I am the opposite.  I save them for the day that I don't want to get out of bed or I just need a pick-me-up..... these orange corduroy matchstick pants do that for me. It works--you should try it.
If you would like to see another way I styled them, check out my More Than One "New Look" post.
Thanks for reading y'all :)
